Muzzles

https://www.muzzletrainingandtips.com.au
Unfortunately, most muzzles have been made with looks in mind instead of comfort for our dogs, when choosing a muzzle make sure it will suit your dog's lifestyle!! Most muzzles that are purchased from pet shops are NOT bite proof and restrict the dog from panting properly which makes them uncomfortable and not ideal if it is used regularly. We have been purchasing Chopo muzzles and are very please with how quickly the dogs settle with them on, along with how much more comfortable they are for the dog. Please visit the website above for fitting instruction, brand choices and all the other information and knowledge you will possibly need to get the best muzzle for your dog.

Diet and Raw feeding

https://rawfedandnerdy.com/
Just like us, diet can have a huge impact on how we feel and behave. We commonly see dogs being feed a "raw" diet, if you are wanting to go down the raw path make sure that the diet is balanced. The website link above is a great refernce to get started.

Enrichment

Mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, dogs that lack enrichment and mental stimulation will find things to keep them occupied such as digging, chewing, fence running, barking etc... As trainers, we see a lot of bord dogs which has led to undesirable behaviour. The link above is for a canine enrichment Facebook page, this has lots of different DIY and purchased enrichment ideas for your dog.

Training collars

https://www.thedogline.com.au/
Although there is no current regulation are E-collars in Australia we only recommend they are used in conjunction with a qualified trainer, we are happy to answer any questions in regards to e-collars and if it would be suitable for you and your dog, We can also teach you how to use them correctly. There are only 2 brands that are generally recommended, these being the most accurate and easy to use making them a very good training device, other cheap brands are nasty and should never be put on a dog!! If you are looking for a quick fix this is not the tool for you, we recommend a minimum of 3 consults when wanting to implement an e-collar so we can ensure that you understand how the collar works so it is used correctly on your dog.
